Rioja 10×10, three Rioja Vega wines in the TOP 10

12-07-2019

These are significant results, considering that Rioja 10x10 is an exhaustive competition in terms of the number and styles of the wines tasted.

The Denomination of Origin created this competition in order to highlight in the British market the excellence and diversity of Rioja wines. The jury is formed by a panel of renowned experts such as Sarah Jane Evans and Tim Atkin as well as some of Great Britain’s key importers and wholesalers.

Rioja 10x10 is structured in ten categories. The cellars can only compete with one wine per category, with a maximum of six categories. Of the total of six wines, up to this moment Rioja Vega has managed to situate three of its references among the Top 10 of their respective groups. This result speaks for itself about the level of excellence of the centenary Rioja winery.

The organization has recently shared with Rioja Vega these outstanding results which will be made public to the UK wine trade in a tasting next October. In addition, the names of the ten winners in each category will be published in a special supplement with Harpers Wine & Spirit magazine.

These recent accolades add up to many received by Rioja Vega wines from international competitions such as Mundus Vini or International Wine Challenge, and excellent ratings from the Peñín or Parker Guides, to name but a few examples.
